Pet Memorial Gifts & Jewellery
We love furry friends.
Rainbows and Stars was established by Kelly and Sian, lifelong friends, and owners of many beloved furry friends, both past and present.
As children, Kelly in Dublin and Sian in Wales, both were brought up with furry family members, and both learned the unique unconditional love, companionship and joy of pets from an early age. Kelly never had less than two dogs in the family home and Sian had many more!
About us
Sian says,
As you will see from my lovely childhood photos š I had dogs in my life from a very early age: Collies, Dobermans, German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers and a mad Irish Red Setter. They were then, and still are, what I consider my family. Having three much older brothers the dogs were my playmates when I was little and living on my own now, fifty-odd years later, my dogs are my house mates ā though I call it the dog-house because they let me live here as long as I walk and feed them.
When I was settled in Ireland, my 40th birthday present to myself were two beautiful Cocker Spaniels, Max and Monty. Kelly was with me when I collected them and has had plenty of furry babysitting duties since then including my cats ā Lily, Purdy and Bruce. I moved down-country and felt broody so Morgan soon arrived into my furry family. Roll on quite a few years to 2023 and sadly Iāve lost the cats and most recently, Max, so I know the pain of losing a furry family member.
I hope that through Rainbows & Stars we can give some solace to what I know can be an extremely sad time for people when they lose their pet.
Kelly says,
My sister Judy and I were blessed to be shown by our parents how to love and care for and respect our family pets from an early age. We had many dogs over the years, each one I remember with the fondest memories. I was nick-named āDoctor Doolittleā at a young age, always bringing home a little friend that I found on my adventures: kittens, hedgehogs, birds to name a few. My dad is a true animal lover and would always try to help the little friends I brought home, some turned into family pets whilst others were released into the wild again.
As an adult I had planned my first dog to be an Alaskan Malamute, my dream dog, but a few months before I was going to get her I came across a tiny puppy Jack Russell who was in desperate need of a home. I couldnāt refuse, Sola was my first fur baby, and soon after I brought Star my Alaskan Malamute home. The two of them, little and large, lit up my life. I was blessed to have years with both my fur babies, and devastated by the passing.
Knowing the grief of losing a furry family member inspired me to create Rainbows and Stars so others can have a little discreet personal memorial with them to help ease the pain.
